Updates

New features, improvements, and notable data updates — most recent first.

New Season 17 events added

Jul 21, 2026
  • Three tournaments have been added to Season 17. North Star Cup 2026 and Vermont Doubles 2026 are now on the Tournaments page and count toward the Season 17 standings.
  • Crokinole Crown Cup Singles (a UK event) has also been added. Like other UK regional events it stays out of the NCA Tour standings, but it’s included in the rating model — so players with games against the UK scene may see small rating adjustments.
  • Ratings, field strength, and points have been refreshed to include all three events. Because the model balances ratings across everyone’s shared history, a few players may see small shifts even if they didn’t play these events — that’s expected, and most players didn’t move at all.

Season 17 begins + clearer rating changes

Jun 24, 2026
  • Season 17 is underway. The first events are in — Origins Singles 2026 and Origins Doubles 2026 — and the Season 17 standings are now live.
  • Player pages now flag when a rating is “still calibrating.” If you’ve only played a handful of rated events, or your rating is still very uncertain, your number can swing a lot and may not line up with how you placed in any one event. That’s normal early on and settles as you play more.
  • Small rating changes are now shown in grey (“≈ no change”) instead of red or green. A tiny move after an event you were expected to win is just normal noise, not a real jump or drop — so it no longer looks alarming. Bigger, meaningful changes still show in green or red.
  • These two changes are display improvements to make your rating easier to read — they don’t change anyone’s actual rating or the model behind it.

Charleston Singles 2026 results corrected

Jun 24, 2026
  • We found that Charleston Singles 2026 had recorded its afternoon playoffs as “who advanced / who got knocked out” each round, rather than the individual one-on-one matches actually played — so the rating model wasn’t seeing the real head-to-head results from that event.
  • We’ve corrected the data to the true 1-on-1 matches and recomputed. Your Charleston rating now reflects exactly who you beat and who beat you.
  • This mostly affected players who competed at Charleston. A few later events shifted very slightly because the model balances ratings across everyone’s shared history — that’s expected, and most players didn’t move at all.
  • If Charleston was one of only a handful of rated events you’ve played, your number may have moved more noticeably — that’s the model working with limited data, and it settles as you play more. (Player pages now flag this with a “still calibrating” note.)
  • Ratings, field strength, points, and the Season 16 and 17 standings for the affected events have all been rebuilt from the corrected results.

Singles/Doubles points breakdown + new bridge events

Jun 13, 2026
  • Season standings now show each player's Singles and Doubles points alongside their season total, so you can see exactly where a player's points come from. This appears on the Season 16 (and future) FWP standings; the two columns always add up to the total.
  • Season 16 Legacy standings have been refreshed with the most recent tournaments. A number of players who were previously missing — mostly due to name spelling or name-order differences — have now been correctly matched and included.
  • Two events were added that strengthen how the rating model connects regions. UKGE Singles 2026 (the UK Gaming Expo event) ties the UK scene more closely to the main pool, and the World Crokinole Championship 2026 — with several Hungarian entrants — strengthens the link back to the Hungarian scene. Players with games against those scenes may see small rating adjustments; players whose history has no overlap are unaffected.

Season 16 Legacy standings updated

May 31, 2026
  • Two new NCA Tour events were added to the Season 16 Legacy standings. Player points and rankings have been refreshed from the Competitive Tour tracking sheet.
  • NCA Rec standings are unchanged this update.

Hungarian event cleanup + new NCA Tour event

May 29, 2026
  • A March 2025 Hungarian doubles event ("Hungary Doubles 2025") had been recorded twice in the database under two different names. The duplicate has been removed, leaving a single clean record. Some Hungarian players' Tournaments Played count drops by 1 as a result; ratings are essentially unchanged.
  • XI. Singles OB (Nov 2025), Hungary's national singles championship, is now recognized as a Tier 3 NCA Tour event. It contributes to the NCA Tour season standings and appears on players' NCA Tour profiles.

UK Doubles 2024 added

May 28, 2026
  • Added UK Doubles 2024 (Dec 7, 2024) — previously missing from the database.
  • Because the tournament's winners compete across UK, EU, and Hungarian scenes, including it strengthened the link between those clusters in the rating model. Players with games against those scenes will see small rating adjustments. North American players whose history has no overlap are unaffected.
  • The event is recorded on players' profiles but won't appear on the NCA Tour standings, since UK regional events stay separate.

Rating history for everyone + data corrections

May 27, 2026
  • The green Published Rating line and per-event detail now appear for every ranked player, not just the top 100. (Past-trace overlays remain a top-100 feature.)
  • New tournaments added: WNC Crokinole Classic 2026 and Cleveland Classic 2025.
  • Each player's Events total is now the true number of distinct tournaments played — some counts changed.
  • Merged duplicate player records (one player appeared under two records; a set of Hungarian players were recorded under two name orders) and recalculated affected ratings.
  • Corrected NCA Tour tagging on some events that were missing it, so they now count toward NCA standings.
  • Some ratings and rating-history values shifted slightly from these corrections — these are data fixes, not model changes.
